Going to the Belgian Grand Prix Solo: One Woman’s Spa F1 Experience
Heather wanted to experience the Belgian Grand Prix, but travelling to Spa alone felt daunting.
She booked with intentsGP, made the trip — and ended up having a brilliant weekend.
I'll admit I was nervous about travelling alone, but that nervousness didn't last long. I met so many amazing people over race weekend, and everyone made me feel instantly welcome. 🤗
As a girl travelling solo, safety was something I thought about beforehand, but I never once felt uneasy.
Nobody made me feel like I stood out for being alone; there were always people around, and everyone was respectful and looked out for one another, which made the whole experience so much easier to enjoy.
Staying at the IntentsGP campsite added to that feeling of community.
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly all weekend, the tent was clean and comfortable, and even with hundreds of people around, everything felt well looked after.
It was lively in the best way, yet still peaceful enough at night to get proper rest before each race day.😌
Then there was the racing itself. Seeing Eau Rouge and Raidillon in real life felt completely surreal, what an iconic corner, and what an iconic circuit. 🏎️
I was seated in the Fanzone Grandstand, and honestly, it was the best view I could have asked for.
Every time the cars swooshed past us up the hill, the adrenaline just hit differently.
And watching Charles and Max stand on the podium? That made it the best weekend of my life.❤️
Safe to say, I'm hooked.
I'm already thinking about making at least one Grand Prix a year part of my life from now on!
This was my first-ever Grand Prix and my first solo trip too! I planned it as my own early 25th birthday present, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate.🥰
